Education
First Degree (1990) in Philosophy at the University of Padua with full honors and Ph.D. (1995) in Philosophy and Human Sciences at the University of Macerata/Perugia.
He spent three years in Germany as a student and Ph.D. student (1991-92, Hochschule für Philosophie and Ludwig Maximilian Universität in Munich; 1994-1995 Universität zu Köln).
Post-doctoral grant in Philosophy of Law at the University of Padua (1997).
Research grant in Philosophy of Law at the Faculty of Law at the University of Verona (1999-2001).

Previous Positions
Research Fellow (2001), Associate Professor (2002), and Full Professor (2011-2017) of Philosophy of Law at the Faculty of Law at the University of Verona. Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Law at the University of Verona (2011) and Director of the School of Law at the University of Verona (2016-2017).

Courses and Research Fields
He currently teaches Philosophy of Law and Legal Methodology and Logic.
His main interests are in history of philosophy of law, philosophy of punishment, bioethics, law and literature, legal argumentation, legal epistemology, law and neuroscience.
He is a member of the directing council of Ph.D. Law School board at the University of Padua.
