Luciano Bossina (1975) is Full Professor for Classical Philology at the University of Padua.

He graduated in ‘Classical Humanities’ and in 2004 he earned a PhD in «History of Late Antiquity» from the University of Turin (Italy).
He was «Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter» at the «Septuaginta-Unternehmen» of the Academy of Sciences of Göttingen (2005-2010) and visiting Professor at the UNAM (Mexico-City, 2011).

His main areas of research are Hellenism, Late Antiquity, and History of Philology.
He is the author of more than 100 publications (1997-today) in the field of Classical, Patristic, Byzantine, Semitic and Italian philology.


Awards:
2009: Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei: International «Luigi Tartufari» Prize for «Philology and Linguistic».
2010: «Rita Levi Montalcini program», International promotion of young researchers.
2017: «Chaire Gutenberg» of the University of Strasbourg.

He is Co-editor of «Fragmente der Griechischen Historiker IV B – History of Literature, Music, Art and Culture» (Leiden-Boston, Brill);
Co-editor of the «Catalogus Philologorum Classicorum» (Genoa).
Co-editor of the «Rivista di Storia del Cristianesimo»
Member of the Advisory Board of the International Reviews «The Vatican Library Review» and «Quaderni di Storia».
Member of the Editorial Board of the Series «Letteratura cristiana antica» (Brescia) and «Nuovi Testi Patristici» (Rome).

He was invited to held lectures in several Italian, European and extra-European Universities and Academies:
