Alberto Benato, originally from Padua, obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering in September 2007 from the University of Padua, presenting a thesis entitled:\n“Micropump: Characteristics of an Innovative RSP Pump”.\n\nIn December 2010, he earned his Master’s degree in Energy Engineering from the same university with a final grade of 110/110, defending a thesis entitled:\n“Performance Analysis of a 1.5 kW Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine (HAWT)”.\nFrom January to December 2011, he carried out research activities as a fellow at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Padua.\nIn October 2011, he passed the admission exam for the Ph.D. program in Industrial Engineering at the same university.\nIn 2015, he obtained the Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering, with a specialization in Energy Engineering, and was awarded the “Doctor Europaeus” distinction, presenting the dissertation:\n“Power Plant Behaviour During Transient Operating Conditions”.\nAlso in 2015, he was awarded a two-year junior research grant for the project:\n“DSO: a fast tool for design and energy management optimization of Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems”,\ncarried out at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Padua and funded by the Giorgio Levi Cases Energy Economics and Technology Research Center.\nIn 2017, he received a one-year junior research grant from the same department for the project:\n“Innovative Configurations of Electrical Energy Storage Systems (PTES)”.\nIn 2018, he was appointed fixed-term researcher (type A) at the University of Padua.\nIn 2021, he obtained a position as fixed-term researcher (type B) at the same department, where in 2023 he became an Associate Professor.\nHe is the author of over 100 scientific publications, including more than 60 articles in indexed international journals.\nHe is also the holder of an Italian patent, granted in 2019, titled:\n“System and Method for Energy Storage and Subsequent Electricity Generation”.\nIn 2017, he received two international awards:\nthe “Young Researcher Award” at the 2nd AIGE/IIETA International Conference and 11th AIGE National Conference;\nthe “Best Paper Award” at the 1st International Conference on Advances in Energy Systems and Environmental Engineering (ASEE17).
