Graduated cum laude in Electronic Engineering from the University of Padua in December 1985 with an orientation in applied electronics.
Subsequently, I continued my research activity at the Power Electronics Laboratory of the University of Padua dealing particularly with structures and control techniques of static conversion systems, the use of power semiconductors and the analysis, design and realization of both analog and digital converters and control circuits, contributing to the publication of numerous papers in journals and at international conferences.
In April 1987 I began the Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering and, with the discussion of a thesis concerning an optimal control technique for multi-converter systems, I obtained the degree of Ph.D. in 1991.
In December 1990 I became a University Researcher in the grouping of Electrical Machines at the Faculty of Engineering (confirmed in tenure in December 1993). In May 1996 I obtained a transfer to the disciplinary scientific area K01X Electronics. Since November 1998, I have served as Associate Professor at the Department of Electronics and Computer Science of the same Faculty and was assigned as an institutional task the course "Complements of Electronics I" for students of electronics. Since November 2002 I have been an extraordinary professor, and in November 2005 I was confirmed in the position of full professor of electronics at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padua.
In the period between A.A. 1990/91, and A.A. 1994/95, I taught in the course of Applied Electronics (CdL in Eng. Electrotechnics and Eng. Informatics) and in the course of Power Electronics (CdL in Eng. Electronics).
From A.A. 1995/96 to A.A.1998/99, and in A.A. 2000/01, I taught the course in Electronics (CdDipl. in Electronics Eng. and CdDipl. in Biomedical Eng.) and organized the implementation of the new experimental and circuit simulation laboratory.
Since A.A. 1998/99, I have taught the newly established course of Complements of Electronics I (CdL in Eng. Elettronica) within which I have given general lectures on the analysis of analog electronic circuits and in-depth lectures on particular topologies. Finally, special attention was paid to the proper use of circuit simulation and aspects related to the design of analog and switched electronic circuits. With the activation of the didactic system defined by DM 509 and, later, DM270, I teach courses in "Analog Electronics" and "Analog Electronics Design" for the CdL specialistica/magistrale in Ing. Elettronica.
In A.A. 2001/02, I was Chair of the Diploma Course Council in Electronics Engineering and then, from A.A. 2002/03 to A.A. 2007/08, Chair of the CdL in Electronics Engineering and coordinator of the CdLs in the Information area. Since November 2008, I have been vice dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Padua until the closure of the faculties.
I carried out the scientific activity mainly in the field of signal and power electronics. In particular evaluating the use of new semiconductor components, the analysis of innovative (application-oriented) topologies and modern control systems, and with the study of specific problems related to research contracts.
