Andrea Neviani received a "Laurea" degree (cum laude) in Physics from the University of Modena, Italy in 1989, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, in 1994. In the academic year 1993/94 he was a "graduate student" at the University of California at Santa Barbara, as part of his Ph.D. program.
Since March 2016 he is Full Professor of Electronics at the University of Padova, where he earlier held the position of Associate Professor (1998 - 2016) and Research Associate (1994 - 1998). From November 1998 to November 1999 he was visiting engineer at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Oxfordshire, UK.
In his early career he worked on numerical simulation, modelling and characterization of compound semiconductor devices for high frequency applications, and silicon devices from BiCMOS processes, with emphasys on effects induced by hot carriers. In the recent past he has contributed to the study of methods for the statistical simulation of VLSI circuits.
He then started to work on the design of analog and mixed-signal CMOS circuits for analog signal processing (like readout channels for high-energy physics experiments and hard-disk dirves, implantable biomedical devices). Since 2004 he is coordinating several projects on RF and mm-wave integrated circuits for biomedical imaging, high resolution radars, and ultra-low-power radios for short-range communications. In his career, he was co-author of over 120 journal articles and conference papers.
Andrea Neviani is served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I from 2010 to 2012 and has been a member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Circuits and Systems for Communication from 2008 to 2016. In 2014 he has been invited to serve in the Technical Program Committee of the European Solid-State Circuits Conference (ESSCIRC).
From February 2017 to February 2023 he has been Coordinator of the Ph.D. Course in Information Engineering of the University of Padova.
