Claudio Narduzzi (born in 1958 in Venice) received the Laurea degree in Electronics Engineering (cum laude) in 1982 from the University of Padua. He is Full Professor of Electronics Instrumentation and Measurement at the School of Engineering of the University of Padua, where he teaches a graduate course in Electronics Engineering and undergraduate courses in Biomedical and Information Engineering.
His main research areas are:
- application of advanced signal processing methods in measurement
- distributed and networked systems for test and measurement
His current research interests principally involve the following application fields:
- Smart Grids
- Wireless Sensor Networks
He actively participates in national and international research projects. He has been the principal investigator in two Italian public-funded PRIN research programmes, in 2005 and 2009 and participated in research programmes within the 4th and 5th European Union Research Frameworks. During 2014-2016 he collaborated to the SmartGrid II project within the European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP). Research activity through industrial collaborations is also carried out.
Since 2014 he is one of the IEC representatives in the Joint Committee for Guides in Metrology (JCGM) working group on the International Vocabulary of Basic and General Terms in Metrology (VIM).
He is a member of IEEE, a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement and a member of Technical Committees for several international conferences, including the IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC) and the IEEE International Symposium on Precision Clock Synchronization (ISPCS). He has been General Chairman of the IEEE International Workshop on Measurements and Networking (M&N).
Between 2008 and 2012 he served a four-year term as the Director of Taught Programmes in Electronics Engineering at the University of Padua.
He is the author of over 150 scientific papers and of textbooks for academic courses.
