Born in Padua, May 17th, 1958; Doctor of Law in 1983 in the University of Padua with a thesis directed by Prof. Giorgio Zordan; volunteer scholar in Italian and Venetian Law History in the same University since a.y. 1984-85; permanent staff as researcher for class N019X, now IUS/19, since July 27th, 1990, the tenure having been confirmed in due time.
Taught Merchant Law History as yearly lecturer without tenure since a.y. 1995-96 until a.y. 2000-01, in the course for the University degree as Operatore giuridico d’impresa, held in Rovigo by the University of Padua; chairwoman within the same course of the Commission for the student tests in Computer proficiency.
Taught Modern and Contemporary Law History as lecturer without tenure in a.y. 2001-02, in the interFaculty course for the University degree in Law of Economy, class of Law Services, in Rovigo.
Taught Medieval and Modern Law History 1 as substitute to Prof. Giorgio Zordan in a.y. 2005-06, in the three-years bachelor course in Law Science, class 31, also valid for the same discipline in the five-years magistral course in Jurisprudence, class LMG/01, valid as added teaching charge.
Taught Storia del diritto veneziano as optional course by yearly assignment from a.y. 2007-08 to a.y. 2013-14, valid as added teaching charge.
Enjoyed in a.y. 2012-13 a research sabbatical, in order to compile for the disciplines of Storia del diritto veneziano and Venetian Law History an entirely electronic textbook, online at www.arielcaliban.org/paxtibimarce.htm.
Teaches Venetian Law History as optional course by yearly assignment since a.y. 2014-15, valid as added teaching charge.
Member of the Comitato per la Pubblicazione delle Fonti relative alla Storia di Venezia and the Deputazione di Storia Patria per le Venezie.

Office hours are held in the Bo Palace, Department of Private Law and Law Critique, section of Law History.
My room can be reached:
-- from the classroom corridor on the ground floor, climb four flight of stairs to the second floor, then through the wooden door and turn right, left through the glass door, right again at the end of the corridor, then through the door on the left corner of the room, up the short flight of stairs, first door at the end of the short corridor; light switch on the left after the last short flight of stairs;
-- from the bar hall, third floor, enter the Department of Private Law, walk left, then left again all along the corridor to the glass door on the left at the very end, then turn right at the end of the corridor, left through the door on the left corner of the room, up the short flight of stairs, first door at the end of the short corridor; two successive light switches can be found on the left after the last short flight of stairs and before the last bookshelf.

I cannot be reached in the following cases:
-- when I am in a Department or Teachers’ meeting or during sessions for discussion of degree theses;
-- during official examinations for Venetian law history or Storia del diritto medievale e moderno; only for urgent matters, students can find me in the classroom where the exaMinations are held.

I research the institutions, the law system, the governmental and judicial practices, legal science and the role of legal professionals in the Republic of Venice in the middle and modern ages.
