RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

The research activity focuses on the field of precision manufacturing, with a particular emphasis on production metrology. Research topics include point cloud processing and analysis, development of in-line and on-machine metrology solutions, optical and contact coordinate metrology, surface characterization, development of metrological digital twins, and use of computer vision and machine learning algorithms for smart systems.

Post Doctoral position Mar - Dec 2024 followed by Assistant Professor (RTDa) position Dec 2024 - present within the Precision Manufacturing Group, Department of Industrial Engineering University of Padua, Italy.

Post Doctoral position Oct 2020 - Dec 2023 in In-process Optical Sensing within the Manufacturing Metrology Team, Faculty of Engineering, at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
Participation to the UKRI Research England Development (RED) project via the Midlands Centre for Data-Driven Metrology multi-site centre, engaging with East Midlands manufacturing companies seeing to incorporate industry 4.0 within their operations.

PRIZES AND AWARDS

- First prize in the field of Manufacturing Technology at The Engineer - Collaborate to Innovate award 2024 national UK event with the work “A single-click automated manufacturing metrology demonstrator” via the Midlands Centre for Data-Driven Metrology;
- Nottingham Reward Scheme 2023 award designed to reward exceptional performance for staff whose contribution goes above and beyond the normal expectation of their role;
- Engineering Research Showcase 2020 first prize award for final year postgraduate students Three-minute thesis presentation (Faculty of Engineering, University of Nottingham);
- Phillip Willey prize 2019 award designed to support a research collaboration with an American Institution (University of North Carolina at Charlotte, US) for research in precision metrology;
- HEIDENHAIN Scholarships 2019 award to support attendance at the international conference euspen;
- Vice-Chancellor's scholarship 2017 for Research Excellence (EU) award to support a PhD at the University of Nottingham;
- Erasmus Traineeship Program Scholarship 2016 at the University of Perugia (Italy) to support a six-month internship at the University of Nottingham.
