Ruggero Carli is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padua.
From January 2005 to July 2008 he has been a PhD student in Automatic Control and Operations Research at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padua. From August 2008 to May 2010 he has been Post-Doc researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of California, Santa Barbara (USA). From June 2010 to December 2010 he has been Post-Doc researcher at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padua and from December 2010 to May 2015 he has been Assistant Professor at the same department.
He has been the main teacher of the following courses:
-) March-June 2012, March-June 2013, March-June 2014 "Laboratory of Controls" Master Degree course in Automation Engineering, University of Padua.
-) March-June 2015, March-June 2016, March-June 2017, March-June 2018 "Robotics, Vision and Control" Master Degree Course in Automation Engineering, University of Padua.
-) October - December 2015, "Signals and Systems" Bachelor Degree course in Energy Engineering, University of Padua.
-) March-June 2017, "Advanced Topics in Control", Master Degree Course in Automation Engineering, University of Padua.
-) March-June 2018, "Automatic Controls", Bachelor Degree Course in Energy Engineering, University of Padua.

In 2009 he obtained the "EECI PhD Award" which is awarded annually by the European Embedded Control Institute to the best European thesis in the field of Embedded and Networked Control.

He has been an active participant in the following projects:
-) "Collaborative Research: Minimalist Mapping and Monitoring" (August 2009 - July 2013) funded by the National Science Foundation, Robotics and Human Augmentation Program.
-) "Behavioral Dynamics in the Cooperative Control of Mixed Human / Robotics Teams" (May 2007-April 2013) funded by the Air Force Office of Scientic Research, MURI Program.
-) "Feedback design for wireless networked systems (FeedNetBack)" (September 2008 - August 2011) funded by the European Community.
-) "HYCON2 - Highly-complex and networked control systems (HYCON2)" (September 2010 - August 2014) funded by the European Community.
-) "Energy-Autonomous Wireless Sensor Networks: from efficient sensor-level energy harvesting to intelligent network-level" (March 2010 - March 2014) funded by the University of Padua.
-) "WSAN: Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks" (2011-2013), funded by the University of Padua.
-) "Designing novel cost-effective distributed strategies for the control and optimization of smart micro-grids" (2015-2016) funded by the University of Padua.

He is author of more than 30 journal papers and more than 70 articles published in the major international conferences of the Automation field.
