    ABSTRACT

This article talks about the network instruments (with particulary attention at the Internet ones) and introduces a tassonomy for who wants to begin a comprehension. There are three functional areas: "interpersonal communication", "access to primary information", "remote elaboration". In the "interpersonal communication" area we can find "e-mail", "list-group" and "newsgroup" as asyncronical system of communication between net-users; "chat area" or "computer conferencing" as syncronical system (real time systems). In the "access to primary information" we have all the applications for "data bank access" and "Network Information Retrieval (NIR)". At last, "remote elaboration" is the possibility to operate on a host computer standing in another place.
