Entrepreneurship and innovation - a.y. 2018/19

This graduate program trains future entrepreneurs and managers with an open-minded approach, working in a global setting and leveraging on training experiences focused on cross-fertilization of ideas and practices.

  Course description

The course supports start-up development processes from multiple perspectives and it explores the innovation frontiers going beyond technological innovation to include also market-driven innovation and social innovation. It combines the languages and frameworks of economics and management through integrated courses. Students will not only benefit from theoretical analyses and cutting-edge research developed at DSEA, but they will also go through learning-by-doing processes within the managerial labs proposed in EI.

A large number of case study presentations and business events are organized to further enhance internship and work opportunities. Meetings with entrepreneurs and events oriented to explore entrepreneurial opportunities are also offered.

  Course structure

The course spread over four semesters is designed to thoroughly prepare students in the areas of Economics, management, legal, and quantitative business management. In the first semester of the second year, course units develop additional specialized expertise on Entrepreneurship, Economics and Human resource management, as well as service oriented firms. In the second semester of the second year, course units are oriented to enhance theoretical and practical knowledge through interactive laboratories.

  Career opportunities

The Course aims at transferring knowledge and develops skills to access managerial and entrepreneurial careers:

  • in small and medium-sized firms that have started strategic paths of growth, internationalization, or innovation that require professionals to understand macro-economic and sectoral trends.
  • roles that support the implementation of new business strategies in large firms that, through spin-offs or dedicated business units, are carrying out business innovation processes or new strategic paths
  • in KIBS (Knowledge Intensive Business Services) that are implementing paths of strategic growth or managerial innovation

 In innovative sectors of manufacturing, services, and culture.

  Entry requirements

This program is geared towards students who have an innovative mind-set and are keen to learn the role of innovation in modern business.

Candidates wishing to enroll in the second-cycle degree course in Entrepreneurship and Innovation are expected to hold a degree or a three-year Italian Diploma Universitario or other qualification earned in Italy or abroad recognized by the current legislation.

Candidates must have minimum credits in specific areas of study:

  • 20 ECTS with knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Business administration and Management, Finance and financial markets, organizational studies, industrial engineering, manufacturing technology, industrial mechanical plants, sociology of communication, design and drawing.
  • 14 ECTS in Economics, Economic policy, Public economics, Econometrics and history of economic thought.
  • 10 ECTS in Statistics, Mathematics, actuarial science, numerical analysis, Electronics, information-processing systems.
  • 6 ECTS in Private law, business law, labor law, public law, international law

Students must demonstrate competence in the following disciplines:  Business administration, Microeconomics and macroeconomics, Economics and business management, Corporate organization, General Statistics

  Tuition fees

Information on 2018/19 fees will be available in 2018: amounts will largely stay the same as for A.Y. 2017/18.

For academic year 2017/18: euro 2.597,00.

The above amounts can be significantly waived (minimum fee: 561,00 euro/A.Y.) based on your “Equivalent Economic Status Index – ISEE”. For further information on how to obtain your ISEE and other income-based reductions, see Funding and fees - Key Documents.

Applicants receiving an offer of admission, either unconditional or conditional, will be asked to pay a tuition fee deposit of euro 185,00 within 30 days to secure their place on the programme.
