Padova meets Vilnius


Alessandro Paccagnella, Vice Rector for International Relations of the University of Padova, will welcome the Vilnius delegation, led by Artūras Žukauskas, Rector of Vilnius University, on Thursday 7 June at the Palazzo Bo.

The proceedings of the meeting will be opened with the presence of Ričardas Šlepavičius, Lithuanian Ambassador to Italy, and Fabrizio Nicoletti, Italian Ambassador to Kuwait and Representative of Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The opening of the event will also include the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two Universities.

The meeting encompasses several panels organised by theme and specific area of common interest and research: the Vilnius faculty members will meet their Padova counterparts in order to discuss shared interests, research proposals, and explore the possibility of furthering academic exchange and cooperation. Furthermore, the attendance of the curators of the Botanical Gardens in the respective universities will introduce further links of cooperation.

A classical music concert in the Archivio Antico of Palazzo Bo will end the first day of the event.

The sharing of outcomes and projects is scheduled for 8 June, in the morning. The Meeting will be concluded in the Archivio Antico with a final discussion.
