Application - how to apply:
Students may also spend a mobility period in Padova in the framework of other non EU exchange programmes, different from Erasmus
Non-EU students must apply for a visa before arriving in Italy (http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en). They will receive an invitation letter from the International Relations Office. Those students who already have a valid European Residence Permit, should still contact the Italian diplomatic authority in their own European countries of residence in order to inquire if they need a visa to enter Italy and obtain an Italian residence permit.
Extra-European students need a private insurance valid for the visa application.
A medical insurance for a Schengen visa must meet the following criteria:
- medical coverage of at least Euro 30.000
- coverage of emergency medical evacuation and repatriation of remains
Furthermore, acceptable medical insurance for Italian residence permit must provide evidence of a national office based in Italy to be contacted in case of emergency. If the insurance company does not have such contact in Italy, you will be able to purchase another insurance for residence permit purposes only upon your arrival in Padova (i.e. Generali insurance: 6 months = 49,00 Euro, 12 months = 98,00 Euro).
Each Erasmus+ mobility for study student is assigned to a Buddy, who will contact the student some days prior to his/her arrival in Padova.
The Buddy system has been set up to provide support to new incoming students staying at the University of Padova in the framework of exchange programmes. All Erasmus+ mobility for study incoming students are automatically assigned to a Buddy group. Each group comprises 10 to 20 Erasmus students. All Buddies are students of the University of Padova enrolled in Master’s Degree courses. They will welcome and support you in finding accommodation and during the registration and enrolment procedures. Buddies will show you where to find your Departments of reference during the academic year and will make you meet your exchange Coordinator in Padova.
You can always contact your Buddy during the academic year by email or by telephone for any issue regarding your university life and beyond.
Buddies cooperate with the International Relations Office and with Buddy Tutors, who are in charge of managing the Buddy service.
