On your arrival - Erasmus+ for study

Please note that the participation in the Welcome Days is mandatory.

  Step 1: SASSA service

The SASSA Service is the first place where you should go together with your Buddy once you arrive in Padova, in order to inform them about your arrival and receive some preliminary information regarding your accommodation and the canteen service. Please refer to the Useful offices map  (see below) for the location and contact information of SASSA Service.
Even if you have already found accommodation privately, you will be asked to go to the SASSA Service in any case.
You will there receive your Badge (useful for canteen service and as key for University residence) and a blue folder with some useful information on future steps. An enrollment appointment will also be arranged for you. The SASSA Service will remind you to pay the university’s insurance prior to the next step.

  Step 2: University's insurance

Before attending the enrollment appointment, you will be required to cover the insurance costs, which amount to 24.50 Euro. This is mandatory for all students at the University of Padova. You can pay the insurance without extra charge in the agencies of the bank “Cassa di Risparmio del Veneto”. You should go to the bank with the MAV payment form included in your blue folder Once you have covered the insurance costs, please keep the receipt in the blue folder.

  Step 3: Welcome Meeting – Registration

You will be required to participate in the Welcome meeting of your School/Department.
The date and the location of your Welcome meeting are reported on the top of the Blue Folder that you receive at the SASSA Office.

During the Welcome meeting, you will receive all the information about the University and the City of Padova. In addition, you will deal with the procedures for the mobility beginning and for your enrollment.

Please remember to bring with you:

  • the folder you received from the SASSA office
  • the insurance payment receipt (24,50€) – see Step2
  • the form of the certificate to be sent to your university and stating your arrival date in Padova, should your University have/require it.
    This form must not by any means be filled in by your Professor/Coordinator in Padova. Only the International Relations Office is entitled to issue a certificate stating the mobility period in Padova.

The following students will be assigned a specific appointment at the International Relations Office (via  VIII Febbraio 2 - Palazzo del Bo, Padova) in order to complete the enrollment process:

  • Non-EU students
  • Students arriving for educational reasons (justified and authorized) before February 5 or after February 28.

Students attending the appointment are required as all the other students to participate in the Welcome Days.

The appointment could also be arranged after the beginning of the classes. In this case, students waiting to attend the appointment can attend classes in any case provided that they have paid the insurance cover indicated above and that they attend the enrollment appointment.

  Step 4: SAOS Office - only for Non-EU citizens

SAOS Office (Welcome Service addressed to foreign guests) is in charge for the registration of temporary stay at the local Registry Office of the city of Padova or for the permit of stay application.
SAOS Office will wait for you immediately after the International Office appointment. Please bring with you:

  • the documents just given you by the International Relations office
  • 1 “Marca da bollo” (revenue stamp)

  Step 5: Medicine and Surgery and Pharmacy students only

For Medicine and Surgery students only: for immunisation records and blood examinations, please refer to the compulsory procedure available on the web page of the Erasmus office at the School of Medicine and Surgery.

For Pharmacy students only: all the necessary documents and information for the medical examination will be provided by our Administrative Office after your arrival in Padova (more information on the web page of the Department of Pharmaceutical sciences)
