Characteristics and objectives
The Physiotherapist is the healthcare professional who performs prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of motor skills, higher cortical functions and visceral pathological events, autonomously or in collaboration with other health professionals.
According to the medical diagnosis and directions, the physiotherapist processes on his own or even in multidisciplinary teams, the definition of the rehabilitation program aimed at identification and overcoming the health needs of disables. He practices therapeutic activity for the functional rehabilitation of disabilities motor, psychomotor and cognitive using physical therapies, manual, massage therapy and employment, in an independent way. He proposes the adoption of prostheses and aids, cares the training and verifies their effectiveness; verifies the correspondences of rehabilitative methodology implemented to functional recovery targets. He is also active in the research, teaching and professional advice in health services and in those where you require in a professional competence.

Occupational opportunities
The physiotherapist find employment in the different structures of national and regional health service, private facilities, accredited or not, such as clinics and rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, centers spas, wellness centers, poly-specialist clinics, professional offices, sports clubs.

Access modalities
The degree in Physiotherapy allows the access to the Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences of Health Professions and at the 1st level University Master of profession.
