Characteristics and objectives
Our two-year Master degree in Economics and Finance aims to develop capabilities of understand economic and financial phenomena, expert technical knowledge to interpret and manage complex financial issues, and develop and assess public policies.
The course has two curricula, Economics and Banking and Finance. The first provides the students with rigorous and state of the art training in applied economics, economic theory and econometrics. The second focuses on Banking and Finance with an original perspective, stressing economic reasoning, analysis of financial institutions and regulatory design, and computer applications. Both tracks share a common basis of core courses providing advanced analytical tools in the field of economics, econometrics and business finance. Students will benefit from a challenging academic environment thanks to small class sizes and a dedicated faculty with an international reputation.
The course prepares graduates for the pursuit of qualified activities of a specialized nature and/or management in the realm of banking, insurance, asset management, consulting firms, stock exchanges, supervisory authorities, government and public service companies, international organizations. Students that want to undertake a stage are fully supported to find the right partner by the Stage & Placement Service. A large number of case study presentations and business events are organized to further enhance internship and work opportunities.
The University of Padova offers full fee-waivers to students who have obtained (or are about to obtain) the qualification to be admitted to the chosen Degree course in a foreign institution (e.g. external to Italian Higher Education System). Fee-waivers are offered for 1 academic year.

The total amount of the fees depends on the ISEE (Equivalent Economic Status Index) and on the chosen degree (unless scholarships or reductions).
