Dottorato di ricerca
This doctorate confers the skills required to undertake research in universities as well as within the private and public sectors. Applicants must be in possession of a 2nd cycle degree (laurea magistrale or laurea magistrale a ciclo unico). They are also required to pass an entrance examination. The whole degree course generally lasts three years, and corresponds to the Doctorate in English-speaking countries.
